HSS Heroes: Cleaning Pharmacies

HSS Heroes: Cleaning Pharmacies

Another shout out to Gessenia P. and Connie A., two more of our HSS Heroes.

Gessenia usually works as an admin/recruiter at the HSS Orlando branch office and Connie is typically working as an assistant manager at a major luxury brand hotel in Orlando.  They are both working at pharmacies doing surface cleaning vital to keeping these facilities up and running.

Thank you Gessenia and Connie and to all of the HSS Heroes in the field!

Like many businesses in the hospitality sector, the coronavirus pandemic has severely impacted our business here at HSS.  However, we’ve been able to turn our focus quickly to areas that do have a need for cleaning services.  Working with our parent company, KBS we’ve been able to deploy our dedicated workers to senior living facilities, shipping and fulfillment centers, pharmacies, grocery stores, and medical facilities nationwide.

HSS Hero: Cesar V. Helping Seniors During the Crisis

A shout out to Cesar V.  Cesar is one of our HSS Heroes cleaning senior living facilities during the crisis.  Normally Cesar is a lead supervisor for a major hotel in Orlando, but he’s one of the many HSS folks taking up cleaning jobs on the front lines of the coronavirus crisis.  Thank you Cesar and to all of the HSS Heroes in the field!

Remembering A Leader In Hospitality

Remembering A Leader In Hospitality

Sirio Maccioni (April 5, 1932 – April 20, 2020)

Sirio Maccioni, the founder of the iconic Le Cirque in New York City, passed away yesterday.  Maccioni was a real innovator in the restaurant hotel business.  In these difficult times, his leadership and longevity reminds us what is great and resilient in this industry.    From the New York Times obituary:

“Give the people what they want,” he said in the autobiography. “If they want a whole fish, grilled, then give it to them. Don’t give away the best table, so that it’s there when you need it. Give the early people the center tables, so they think they are important. Never have an empty table in the room. Do the impossible. Never say no.”

As successful as he was in the hospitality business, Maccioni never lost sight of what really make the business great: the basic respect for hard work and service.

“You know, when I die, I hope that is all they say about me: that I made it respectable to be a waiter.”

5 Cleaning Trends When Hotels Come Back

5 Cleaning Trends When Hotels Come Back

The hotel industry is going to come back online.  We know this for sure.  It’s really just a question of when and, more importantly, how.   HSS is  already working with major hotel brands across the country to get properties back up and running and we’ve have seen some trends emerge.  These include meeting a new expectation for cleaning, consolidating vendors to maximize efficiency, and communicating clean processes and materials.  Here’s a quick presentation outlining 5 of the most important trends hotel operators need to know about cleaning as we emerge from this crisis.

Cleaning Logistics Centers and Warehouses During The Corona Crisis

Cleaning Logistics Centers and Warehouses During The Corona Crisis

Our teams are helping warehouses and logistics centers stay open and sanitized. We’ve teamed with a number of large corporate brands to enhance their surface cleaning efforts using housekeepers and cleaning staff displaced from hotels. It’s about keeping spaces clean, safe and operational and also about putting people to work.

At HSS, we’re working 110% to make this happen! We’re deploying as many workers as we can to these locations. Dealing with transportation, supplies, badging, and other challenges have kept HSS busy but we’re all excited about this opportunity to help people find new work until the hotels are back up and running.
